With its roots in the Netherlands, Boskalis has over 100 years’ experience in hydraulic engineering, coastal protection and land reclamation. Our head office is located in Papendrecht and we have an extensive network of branches around the world. We operate in 90 countries and across six continents, with a versatile fleet of more than 900 vessels and floating equipment. Shares in the company have been listed on Euronext Amsterdam since 1971.

Our activities

Traditionally, dredging has been Boskalis’ core activity. Our services include the construction and maintenance of ports and waterways, land reclamation, coastal defense and riverbank protection.

Today we also offer a wide variety of maritime services and contracting to the offshore energy sector. These include the development, construction, transport, installation, inspection, repair & maintenance (IRM) and decommissioning of oil and LNG import/export facilities, offshore platforms, pipelines and cables and offshore wind farms

We provide towage services, emergency response and salvage through SMIT. Together with our strategic partners in harbor towage (Keppel Smit Towage in Asia, Saam Smit Towage in the Americas and the joint venture Kotug Smit Towage in Northwest Europe) and terminal services (Smit Lamnalco), we cover more than 90 ports in 36 countries around the world.
